Well, I had a fabulous Mother's Day! Breakfast served to me, a back rub and foot massage from Luke, wonderful homemade cards from the kids, a couple of hanging geranium pots, Wes finishing the second of three garden boxes, a Thai food lunch, and............. a surprise visit to the pet store! Did I emphasize the word 'surprise' strongly enough?! Well, I wasn't exactly ready for a new puppy yet, but apparently everyone else in the family was, so that made it impossible to leave the store without this little girl. She had such crazy energy that she was a perfect fit for us! She reminded us of a little poppy seed!
On the drive home with our new purchase Luke's eyes were welling up and tears were spilling out. When I asked him what was wrong and if he was okay he said, "They're just tears of joy mom". That has almost made the sleepless nights and inside potty accidents worth it!
Both kids have PROMISED to be very, very involved with the care of this little Poppy Seed....
I'll keep you posted!

"Tears of joy", that almost brought a little tear to my eye...what a sweet boy. (By the way, I took my crib rail down after your story. I'm so glad you shared that with me. This is my 3rd baby, and I'd never thought of that! Which is weird because I worry about everything.)
Such a cute puppy!! I love that last picture with Hayley.
